The Company that continued its operations in the new ownership structure under the name of Rail Cargo Hungaria (RCH), organized a festive convention of business partners at the Hungarian Railway History Park to commemorate the anniversary.
At the invitaion of RCH’s management, the event was attended by Andreas Matthä, the CEO of ÖBB, dr. Kerékgyártó János, secretary of state responsible for transport regulation, dr. Pafféri Zoltán, the CEO of MÁV Zrt., dr. Mosóczi László, the CEO of MÁV-START Zrt., as well as the leaders of other railway undertakings, and the representatives of the Austrian and the Chinese embassy, key experts of European railway logistics, trade union delegates and the representatives of the RCG Group.
In his welcome address, Andreas Matthä, the CEO of ÖBB expressed his thankfulness for the cooperation and support offered by the Hungarian transportation policy makers and MÁV, and pointed out that the Austrian State Railway undertakes a long term responsibility for the development of Rail Cargo Hungaria.
In his speech, Dr. Imre Kovács, Chairman of the Board of Rail Cargo Hungaria (RCH) and CEO explained that following the exceptionally succesful privatization of MÁV Cargo, RCH continues to operate as a strategic entity of Hungary, as part of the Hungarian economy and as a valued partner to domestic businesses. The new shareholder consolidated the Company through substantial investments, owing to which it has entered a new and dinamic stage of development: it has refurbished over eight thousand wagons, has created the most modern fleet of locomotives in Hungary and has automated its operational and goods handling processes.
In the last one and a half decades, RCH remained a market leader in Hungary. Dr. Kovács Imre pointed out that the Company’s results were achieved in close cooperation with MÁV and GYSEV. In conclusion he thanked the Company’s professional partners, clients and staff for the support.
