Mission accomplished

Our locomotive driver trainees, who started their training in January last year, passed the driving practice exam with good results, hence became qualified locomotive drivers.

The next challenge they need to overcome is acquiring the necessary route knowledge, for which the know-how transfer will partly take place via online training. Soon, probably in the second half of the summer, they will be able to perform their tasks independently.

The strength of the team is also demonstrated by the fact that they, like all our colleagues, had to cope with an exceptional situation, but their enthusiasm and professionalism helped them through the difficulties caused by the pandemic. In addition, during this extraordinary period, they participated in the cleaning and disinfection of the locomotives as well, which task they will also continue during their route knowledge training.

The trainees of the other course, which started last autumn, are also performing well and are currently facing one of the most significant challenges, the infrastructure exam. During the pandemic situation, RCH sought to secure their training online and provided tablets for the trainees upon request. However, the group will return to the traditional form of education from 15 June. If everything goes according to plans and schedule, we can already welcome them in our active team of locomotive drivers next year.
