The locomotives operated on InterCity routes in eastern Hungary and covered a total distance of approximately one million kilometres during the past twelve months. Zsolt Hegyi, CEO of the MÁV Group, publicly expressed his appreciation for the support and flexibility provided:
“Over the past year, Rail Cargo Hungaria came to our aid by lending us five red Taurus locomotives. Now that summer has come to an end and fewer trains are running to Lake Balaton, we need fewer locomotives, so we are returning them. We would like to thank Rail Cargo Hungaria for being there for us when we needed them. They were on active duty. Thank you, red locomotives!”
In his response, Dr. Imre Kovács, CEO of Rail Cargo Hungaria, highlighted the importance of smooth professional cooperation:
“Dear CEO, this agreement was in our mutual interest. It allowed passenger transport services to receive the support they needed while ensuring that Rail Cargo Hungaria retained its own operational capacities. I believe we have once again demonstrated that railway professionals share a common language and can always find solutions to challenges together. I would also like to thank you for the excellent cooperation.”
Following the required maintenance work and inspections, the locomotives will strengthen Rail Cargo Hungaria’s freight transport operations again.
