She said, "Rail Cargo Hungaria has grown into a success story in a competitive environment, which is also exemplary for the sustainable and cooperative nature of bilateral economic relations between Austria and Hungary. It is also a great appreciaton for the Austrian School that Rail Cargo Hungaria is so committed to investing in the scholarship programme. I would like to take this opportunity to thank RCH and express my hope that the cooperation will continue for many years to come."

Dr. Imre Kovács highlighted that Rail Cargo Hungaria has been providing scholarships to students with exceptional scholastic achievements for 14 years, this year for 7 students.

As the leading railway undertaking in Hungary, Rail Cargo Hungaria supports the learning of ambitious young people at all levels of the school system. "We see this as an integral part of our investment policy. That is why we support talented young people in many secondary schools, vocational schools and higher education institutions in Hungary. Our experience is that only companies can achieve outstanding results that attract well-prepared, highly educated employees. Market players are always competing for valuable staff, regardless of the specific economic situation".

The CEO concluded finally:  „The Austrian School of Budapest is renowned for the high quality of its students' qualification, preparing them for further education and for a successful future in life. The Rail Cargo Hungaria Scholarship programme rewards students who also excel in their academic and community work, even in the face of the rigorous standards required here. We believe that by supporting them, we are giving young people studying here a new inspiration to deepen their knowledge and broaden their interests, including the future careers that the railway has to offer".

Speaking at the award ceremony, the school's director, Margot Wieser, said: “There are many reasons for the success of the Austrian School Budapest. First and foremost, it is a beautiful and functional interplay of people, or 'togetherness': a vibrant school community characterised by shared values, dialogue and partnership, appreciation of values, trust and respect – talented students, supportive parents, an experienced and highly enthusiastic teaching team, collaborative partners like Rail Cargo Hungaria who accompany and support us.

The scholarship is awarded to students who, in addition to their learning excellence, excel in social skills and active participation in school life, and thus make a significant contribution to the success of the Austrian School of Budapest.
Achievements are recognized through grades, but more importantly through personal feedback and praise. A very nice example of recognition is the awarding of the Rail Cargo Hungaria scholarships."

About the Austrian School of Budapest

The Austrian School of Budapest is one of the seven Austrian schools abroad and one of the most successful foundation schools in Hungary. The secondary school was established through an international agreement to foster and deepen Austrian-Hungarian relations. In the 34 years of its existence, students with a high level of German language skills have emerged from its walls and have been welcomed with open arms by companies and institutions that communicate in German or have links with Austria. Incorporating differentiated teaching methods and providing extra opportunities to support the academic progress of talented students is essential for a successful school. Students have a responsibility to learn, in which the Rail Cargo Hungaria Study Scholarship programme is a valuable motivation.
