Students on the Rail Cargo Terminal - BILK

Organised by the Rail Cargo Group, school groups visited the Rail Cargo Terminal - BILK, where students had the chance to learn more about container transhipment and experience travelling in a shunting locomotive. The visits took place in a very great atmosphere, students acquired lots of information about the sector. Among others they learned that in comparison with road transport, rail freight transport burdens the environment with less greenhouse gas emissions and with less noise. Railway reduces road traffic and noise pollution and promotes the preservation of biodiversity.
