The M62s (Sergeys) will be assigned to the Paks II. project as a strategic task, while the Company is also planning to use them for other high-volume transports.
The traction vehicles were renovated according to the Hungarian requirements and tailored to RCH’s specific needs by DLRR locomotive manufacturing and maintenance company. Thereafter, the Sergeys arrived in Hungary in December last year and were first commissioned in Keleti Railway Station. Following the necessary running trials and tests, RCH took over the vehicles for its own operation in May. One of the locomotives is currently in service in Dunaújváros as part of the preparation for the Paks II. project, while the other one is performing transport tasks between Ferencváros and Soroksár during the track closure period, including the forwarding of container trains and the replacement of diesel towing services provided by MÁV-Személyszállítási Zrt.
As a result of the expansion, the Company now has a fleet of 26 diesel locomotives, including the two Sergeys that are joining ÖBB’s Whisperer, Hercules, Grasshopper and AKIEM diesel TRAXX vehicles, to provide its customers with a solid, predictable and punctual service.
